What to do when times are hard
1) Stand on God's promises.
Search the Bible for His promises related to your situation. Buy or search online for a book/list of God's promises. They categorize His promises under the problems that we face everyday. Claim those promises that speak to you and what you are going through, then speak those promises out loud in the morning and before you go to bed at night.

2) Pray and make your request known to God.
Take those promises you found in the Bible and claim them in your prayers. "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you." Mark 11:24. Make your requests known to God, but then be still and listen for what God wants to tell you. Prayer and communication is not a one-way street. He wants to have communion (an exchange of intimate thoughts and feelings) with you. He wants to uplift you and encourage you. Don't miss out on this part of prayer!

3) Strengthen your faith with praise.
Praise God and dwell on His wondrous works. "Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all you diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with loving-kindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle." Psalms 103:1-5. "Sing to God, sing praises to him; dwell on all his wondrous works!" 1 Chronicles 16:9. "Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus". 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18. Rejoice, Pray, and Give thanks!

4) Put your faith into action!
"faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."(James 2:17) Take small steps and continue until you see it through. "We walk by faith, not by sight."(2 Cor 5:7), so stand on God's promises and do not "lean on your own understanding". Proverbs 3:5.
Don't be depressed or fearful. Take your negative thoughts into captivity. Stand strong in your faith even when your thoughts or circumstances are coming against His truth. "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1.

5) Believe in Miracles.
Don't bind God's miracles with your doubts and unbelief. Don't you think Noah had some doubts about building the ark. Don't you think he heard the people putting him down and mocking him for building a boat when no one had ever seen rain before.

But Noah did not let doubts or criticisms stop him from following what God told him to do, or claiming the promises given to him by God. "And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." Hebrews 11:6. God wants to bless us. We need to believe in God's love for us and that he wants to reward us!
